Multorpor Fen

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Pond in Multorpor Fen (bobcat)

Description

Multorpor Fen is a rare mountain bog that has survived the development around Government Camp. Most of this sphagnum bog is owned and protected by the Nature Conservancy. This is a fragile environment: Stick to the Multorpor Fen Trail, which will give you a good appreciation of the swamp. In the summer, this is a great place to track down wetland plants, such as elephant's-head lousewort, two species of sundew, various sedges, swamp cranberry, and bog orchids.
