Hikes starting here

Fees, Regulations, Facilities

  • Northwest Forest Pass (or America the Beautiful Pass) required
  • Restrooms and picnic tables at the day-use area
  • Trail in the dunes marked by posts; be aware of your bearings
  • Beach access limited March 15th – September 15th (Snowy plover nesting area)

Driving Directions

From Reedsport:

From the intersection of Highway 101 and Umpqua Avenue (Highway 38) in Reedsport, drive south on Highway 101 for 11.0 miles.

Turn right for the John Dellenbach Dunes Trailhead, and park in the small parking area.

From North Bend/Coos Bay:

From the south end of the McCullough Bridge over Coos Bay, drive north on Highway 101 for 11.6 miles.

Turn left for the John Dellenbach Dunes Trailhead, and park in the small parking area.
