Driving Directions

From Portland:

Drive I-5 South to Exit 294 for 99W, Tigard and Newberg.

Keep on 99 West through Tigard, Sherwood, Newberg and Dundee for 22.9 miles and then turn left onto Highway 18 for Dayton and the Oregon Coast.

Drive all the way on Highway 18 (52.7 miles). Before Highway 101, there’s a junction where cars going north peel off to the right for Neskowin and Tillamook.

Drive 0.7 more miles and merge with Highway 101 South.

Drive 69.1 miles through Lincoln City and then Newport, crossing the Yaquina Bay Bridge to pass through the communities of Seal Rock, Waldport, and Yachats as well as the turnoff for Cape Perpetua.

Park on the left side of the road at a pullout. The Valley Trail in Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park leaves from here; across the road, you can connect with the trail that runs between Hobbit Beach and the Heceta Head Lighthouse.
