Cooper Mountain Quarry Pond

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The quarry pond, Cooper Mountain (bobcat)

Description

This small pond, a rainwater-filled quarry established during the construction of the area's logging roads, is a breeding locale for red-legged frogs and a magnet for songbirds seeking a quick drink. It is surrounded by the oak savannah typical of Cooper Mountain's south slope.
